Physical Experiments

Physical Experiments

For my component 1 work, I have done a physical experiment that shows my images back into the landscape. As my project is based on documenting the change between autumn to winter, I thought it would be a nice idea to use the springtime as another element. As you will see below I have printed three of my images and taken them back into the landscape, placing them in bright bushes and flowers in order to show a contrast to their bleakness.

The reason I chose to put these two images together is that I feel that they contrast each other really well. The images I originally took was off a tree in the middle of winter so it had bare branches. When I printed the image I put it into a full and luscious tree to show the change between winter and spring.

Secondly, there is this image, this is one I took again in winter. It shows an icy and frosty day whereby the puddles had frozen. I decided to put this image in with some pink flowers as they are almost complementary colours. The warm pink border works well with the cold green image further accentuating each of the colours.

Lastly, there is this photograph. The one I am holding as obviously taken in the snow where the sky was white. The image is very bleak and almost lifeless apart from the man standing on the left, therefore by holding it again a spring sky it shows the difference the seasons make to the overall brightness. I feel that this is such a stark contrast that it really works.
