Mid-term Evaluation
My personal investigation for Component 1 started off with my aim being 'To record the aesthetically pleasing side of nature'. My main aim within this was to bring to people an appreciation for the environment that surrounds them, to have respect for our environment. So far in this project, I have completed four shoots, all of which I believe are aesthetically pleasing therefore that aspect has been achieved. The shoots went as follows: Forest, Plant Form, In Red and Autumn. Thus far they have gone well, however, I feel that my idea has changed throughout these shoots and could advance further.
The first shoot was called 'Forest' based on the work of Ansel Adams, I tried to focus on the wider perspective of landscapes and convert some of them to black and white to recreate his style. I like how this went as I produced some good photographs and developed a style throughout. The second shoot was titled 'Plant Form' whereby I adopted the style of Imogen Cunningham and was inspired by her 'Botanic' work. I believe this went well however after the shoot I felt that there wasn't much else I could do following this theme. I wanted my work to be more creative, therefore I decided to explore people in nature for the next two shoots.
The third and fourth shoot were based on the work of Svetlana Belyaeva who photographs women in beautiful dresses, with their make-up done and hair done with colours that match the surroundings they are in. My third shoot called 'In Red' included a subject wearing red lipstick and a red outfit to fit this theme. The fourth shoot was called 'Autumn' therefore I used the same concept but used autumnal colours. Although I believe these shoots went well and I produced some good images within them I still don't believe this is where I want my project to go.
I believe that these fist four shoots have focused only on the aesthetically pleasing, beautiful side of landscape and nature. However, there aren't many more creative ideas I can come up with to carry this project on. Therefore I have decided to explore the more bleak and 'negative' side of our environment. In order to use the shoots that I have already created, I will tie my work together by showing the ever changing cycle of nature from beautiful colours and flowers to the bleak winter with frost on the ground and bare trees. I think if I am able to achieve this I will be able to produce an interesting piece of work with a solid concept behind them.

OK good analysis here and quite succinct. there is a clear sense of progression. please add links to the four shoots that you have referred to, so that when viewed in live mode the viewer has the ability to see the shoots that you are referring to. Please check the grammar as "fist" is not the word you intended to use.
